People say “Freedom is to do whatever one wants and desires”. Or freedom is the condition where one can do what he wants, what he desires, or what he thinks will give him happiness. But just stop and think, will this give you a real freedom? And “Would it be freedom, where you can choose to be addicted of alcohol or any other addiction that will make you SLAVE of something”.
True freedom doesn’t makes you slave of something or someone. So WHAT IS TRUE FREEDOM THEN?? AND WHY DO WE WANT IT ANYWAY?
We are human being and we want good things, good life, satisfaction, well being and HAPPINESS.
We want freedom, freedom that will first make us free and also give us the joy, satisfaction and happiness that we are constantly seeking in this world.
( Ps. Peter Quoted) ..TRUE FREEDOM IS SOMETHING THAT FIRST MAKES YOU FREE FROM YOUR SLAVERY AND THEN GIVES YOU FREEDOM TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT THING, FOR THE RIGHT REASON, AND FOR THE RIGHT RESULT. Many of the freedoms that we seek today are seen as ends in themselves BUT TRUE FREEDOM IS SOMETHING THAT WILL GIVE YOU HAPPINESS NOT JUST FOR SHORT TIME, BUT HAPPINESS THAT IS NEVER ENDING.
But one question still remains and that is, “WHY DO WE NOT HAVE IT?”
we do not have this freedom because we are slave of something and it is not country or a person that we are slave of. But it is our Desires. But why doing something that we desire or want makes us slave because we don’t desire right things, for right purpose and even for right result and these Desires we have because of sin in us. And that’s why we disobey laws, rules and commandments. We are sinners and whatever we desire is sinful and Our Hearts see and desire something it cannot live without. That’s why the Bible(HOLY SCRIPTURE) says that true freedom begins in the heart. We act on our thoughts and behave according to our desires and heart’s desires are dominated by sin and WE ARE SLAVE OF SIN.
But by the way, how do we have this sin? The answer is found in the Bible which reveals The Truth of humanity. But WHY TO KNOW THIS TRUTH BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS “WHEN YOU THE TRUTH, IT WILL SET YOU FREE”.
The Truth Of Humanity
There is God who has created Time, Space, Matter, and humans.
How do we know that? We know this true through
- The conscience that God has given us to understand good and bad or right and wrong.
- Commandments that is laws and Rules that we have to obey. which also shows that there is ultimate judge over everything to punish evil and bad.
- but most explicitly, we know that he exists by his Creation when we see all that he has made. All of the Creation clearly revealing us that someone (that is God) has made everything.
So world cannot be existed by its own. God has made it
And this God is Eternal Being(From Everlasting to Everlasting) which means he is Creator and he doesn’t have to be created.
This Eternal God has made us and created us in his own image. He gave us command to obey and free will to not obey. We chose sin instead of god and further sin became our master. AND BIBLE SAYS “THOSE WHO DO SINS ARE SLAVE OF SIN” AND FURTHER ITS SAYS “ALL ARE SINNER” because we
But problem is that due to our sin, we have all received the consequential penalty of sin, namely spiritual and physical death. Death reigns in all of us so every one of us is spiritually dead (separated from God) and will also die physically one day. Not only this, but throughout our life, the effects of sin infect everything we do, distorting the way we think, desire, and behave. All of Our thoughts, feelings, and actions are tainted by our sin. The human heart is corrupted and enslaved by evil.
We are free to choose, we freely choose sin continually as a habit of nature. The final consequence of our sin against God is hell, a state of total and ending, disconnection and separation from God. So what’s the solution?
SOLUTION IS….
We are sinners and God is Holy and Just. we deserve his judgment on our sins and rightly deserve eternal death in Hell. But God so loves us that he sent his sinless son to be our savior. HOW?
Jesus the sinless son of God came down to earth, born by a virgin woman, live perfect life, Died on the cross for our sins and rose again on 3rd day
All he did to take our punishment of sins on him and give us the eternal life and Free us from sin and its penalty
NOW DO YOU HAVE THIS TRUE FREEDOM??
HOW CAN YOU HAVE IT??
BIBLE SAYS “Those who believe are free” from this slavery of sin and have the freedom in God who is source of all good things. And only this Eternal God can give us the never ending happiness, not the worldly kinds of temporary joy like money, position, respect and lesser and time bound satisfaction but in Christ we are free from slavery of sin and its consequences.
So we can have this freedom By believing what God has done for us to grant us such freedom, by believing in son Jesus who saved us and freed us.(JOHN 8:36). By faith, we give our life to Jesus and receive His forgiveness and freedom from sin. Not only this, but we are now free to do the very thing we were created to do — to honor and enjoy God forever.
